Renzo Rosso, the founder of Diesel, the humungous brand for jeans and now of so many other, was on a visit to India and expressed a desire to meet me. And so I did. A charming simple Italian, bubbling with energy on India and his love for the country. Has six children and has named his last, a daughter, India. Cute. Was curious about cinema in India and its working. Appreciated Indian creativity and talent. Said when a job was given to an Indian, they added greater creativity than stipulated. Was impressed by the office. Fed him ‘thepla’ and some tasty other snacks from the region. He devoured the ‘laddoos’ more and the ‘khus’ he was offered as a cool drink in this immense summer. Enjoyed the hospitality, invited me to his home and farm in Italy north of Venice where he grew his own wine, and said he would present me with a watch which had been designed for Diesel. I gave him several books – TBONTB, Bachchanalia, Madhushala. Took several pictures with his arm around my shoulder. I saw him off to his car. I think they plan to up their presence in the country. Clothing is never a problem business, provided you are in the right place at the right time !!
The projects for the coming months are fructifying gradually and once they are firm, we shall announce them to all. All, here within our EF/FmXt. This is and has become the platform for recent and rapid distribution of information. I remember at a press conference soon after I had begun the blog, a young lady stringer had got up and expressed her mock displeasure at the fact of my writing. Her lament being that I was eating into her job.
I had disagreed with her and given her the usual democratically correct response.
‘Ma’am if you have the liberty to write, so do I “.
But, you know, as we have moved forward from that day, it has virtually been just that. We have been informing the media, albeit through our own medium, and they have been religiously carrying it, giving it, most cleverly, the color as though they had been responsible in procuring it through their own ‘sources’. Which is fine, so long as they do not mutilate what they source from blog. But, when they shall steal and misuse it like the Mumbai Mirror did, they get moved in Court.
Moving court for defamation or apology is a tedious process. At least here in this country. It would take years for it to reach any kind of judgment. Fifteen, twenty at times. By the time you get to the end of the line, its either too late to have kind of relevance, or the people involved have passed away. No one remembers. No one cares. But till the judgment arrives, media still has the right to write and since your attitude to them is now known, they would target you even more.
Medical history … !!! I still insist on being an early morning fresh, than a worn out late night. And since we are now in the latter, we must wait another day for the ‘goodies’. Or perhaps more. Who knows ..??
Just as a new purchase or a fresh and new set of clothing, brings a brighter and better end to a face, so also a rearrangement of your normal settings brings on a freshness to your life. A couch moved about in the drawing room. A writing table cleared up from files and cluttered paper work. Getting rid of stocked property, an order set among disorder, all quite simply goes down as such a remarkable change in one’s countenance. How I wonder does this phenomena occur and how I wonder do not people who resolve and face difficult situations on a regular basis, think of this ‘cure’.
Good deeds remain good when executed with some rapidity. Sit and dwell over it and its value and purpose is harshly reduced. Its the same with decisions. Allow matter to ponder and wait and its repercussions are grave. Pile up stock up …. face up !!
Indecisiveness is a serious curse. Those inflicted with it, suffer throughout their lives. They envy those that do possess it. And many in their desire to change the world from moving one way to the other, defy circumstances. That decisiveness is not too welcome either.
We Librans suffer the most. Our almost savage desire for fairness and balance, is intolerable to many ; sometimes to ourselves as well. But balance it is and balance it shall be. Without it a Libra would wither and die. The Libra is also credited with the art of creativity. How ever then, does he decide when his or her creativity needs to be balanced, or subjected to balance.
Can we safely say that the best in creativity shall emanate only when it is treated with balance ? Balance what ?? Oh, dear I think I may have used the color red in my painting in excess, I need to balance it off with yellow. But a balanced yellow and red may not necessarily convey my creativity. In fact it never would. So what ?? And where to close the argument. Not realistically possible to do so. So where does that leave the Libran ?
It actually leaves them as a misfit, a stranger, an outsider.
Is it any wonder then that a large number of known film fraternity, are born under the sign of the Balance !!
” we are ***@%&** Librans, @@%%***&** up this film !!! Is a song most Librans sing in unison when in a project that we know is not going anywhere – the balance , you see, is incorrect !!
But ne’er shall the balance between those that come one come all to this their home, this blog this social machinery, this appreciator of each others talent, and its originator, happen ..Ever happen !!! That is love and true affection. A child’s cry, submerged within the confines of his Mother’s lap – muffled, but sincere …
Love and more ..
