When you tell your mind, tell HIM/HER in all your sincerity and wish and put in prayer on your lips .. HE/SHE listens !! They tell us in the news today that scientists have discovered the ‘God Particle’, that atom or whatever the technical term is for such, which indicates to us how the universe was created ! In actual terms then, we now have a finite form of the Almighty ! Technically also, or perhaps scientifically they would give it a nomenclature, a name, a chemical or physical structure, a formula, alphabets that would describe who we are talking about – H2SO4, HCL, CO2 or some similar form that we dealt with in the chemistry lab in School and College – Hydrogen Sulphate better known as Sulphuric Acid H2SO4 … Hydrogen Chloride HCl Hydrochloric Acid, CO2 carbon dioxide !! So what will the ‘God Particle’ be ?? G to the power of infinity !!

I wonder where all this is leading us to. I wonder too that this generation shall be privy to so much more than we can possibly imagine. If progress moved at 2-3% in the god old days, it moves now at 2000-3000%. Inventions galore, every second of our life, giving us answers to unknown facts that the older lot would have given up on because it was beyond imagination. Tomorrow’s generation shall perhaps live in the best environ, where hopefully they shall have answers to all that exists, or shall be rapidly working towards it. The Moon has been conquered, mars has been visited, space travel is envisaged at humungous cost, space vehicles have met and joined and exchanged astronauts, women are aboard them, procreation in space shall soon follow, unless they find substitutes for that as well, inhabiting another world or planet will be not too distant …

Where the heck are we going ?

My Father in his later years had desired a powerful telescope to be bought for him. We did. Many hours he would spend looking through it, into space, the stars, the universe … I wonder why ? A poet, a thinker a philosopher needing that aspect of life which once he imagined and dreamt about in the dearest of words and thought ? Suddenly the magic and poetry around the Moon after ‘one large step for mankind’ seemingly disappeared. Lyrics and poetry do not dwell much on the unknowns of the hemisphere. They now wonder quite amusingly ‘ki choli ke peeche kya hai’ or ask fervently for ‘DK Bose to run’ and at times telling ‘Bachchan to Bol‘ … there is keen interest now in ‘Sheila’s jawani‘ or the pelvic thrusts of ‘silky smooth Chameli’ informing all of the ‘pauaa shot of intoxicant she has just consumed’ …. and on …

Back to prayer then, a constant in our lives among most of us, due respect of course to the atheist brigade, who may be having a quiet chuckle now with the announcement of the ‘G particle’ and CERN !

CERN the European Organization for Nuclear Research situated in Geneva, working tirelessly in laboratories, some deep in the underground where last year the Big Bang Theory was experimented with, has now discovered the ‘God Particle’ alternately known as the Higgs Boson. Boson, coming from Bose, the Indian scientist that started this process along with Einstein, joined later by another scientist called Higgs ! There are over a 100 Indian scientists working on this site and project !

So … who do we pray to ? That unknown force, which none of us have seen or heard – the Almighty ! Or the just discovered God particle, for it was this that created us … OR … do we pray to Mr Bose for discovering it ! For he that discovereth the Lord, is no less a God himself !!

At least this Bose is not going to be asked to run !! He ain’t DK … he be the eminent Satyendra Nath Bose !!

“India is like a historic father of the project,” a spokesman at CERN had stated last year !!

Praise be upon them that bring the difference to us … for soon they may bestow us with elements that would not desire slumber ..

Until then, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, peace be upon you and those you love, as I drift into the Boson !
