It matters not if the hour closes in now at 4 AM ! What matters most is that many will and shall wait anxiously for this missive. Their wait shall forever be weighted upon me, and so despite the hour and the fatigue and the pressures of work and the morning rise, I shall communicate as I have all these years !

I know I cross boundaries that have been most generously laid down by concerned family, but that shall not give me liberty to be set with malaise and complacency. Never !

The mock rehearsals for KBC continue and the enthusiasm of those that come surprises me. It is mock and it is unrewarding, but they insist on the cheque to be presented to them when they succeed. A cheque is that small piece of paper which has just an autograph on a plain sheet. For them it is their worth of the day. I am so humbled . And then later to have an Ef audience with the Mishra’s from Dubai and their enthusiasm to do charity for those deprived of it is such a joy to learn and hear.

But the crowning glory is the session at Salim-Sulaiman’s recording studio later at night to record a song for KBC, and my extreme hesitation in doing so, for it is a moment filled with immense self consciousness.

I think it becomes relevant and important to be in a state of complete comfort before performing any creative act. It is for me. And when the environ is not conducive, the soul is absent. I have not done much with Salim-Sulaiman, and that always comes in the way when they are in charge. I opt often for Aadesh Shrivastava, because many a long night has been spent there in uninhibited jamming. There is that comfort within the studios of Vishal-Shekhar … but Salim-Sulaiman, made me nervous and anxious and yes, the butterflies which have now found permanent residence within my intestines. However, this must be said, the experience tonight has been most rewarding and fruitful. Not in the rendering of my song, but just in the required adjustment of being at ease there within their equipments and computers and instruments and with those that operate them ! My singing as always is awful, their sound is awesome, and there shall be several sittings before they shall decide whether I have passed muster. Prayers are solicited fom the Ef, in the hope that all shall turn out to be … er …. comfortable in my final produce !

There is an expectancy among those that watch the show called KBC, and each year there are those anxious moments when I believe the worst. The inability to be able to bring what is desired, to be living up. So, many prayers and blessings shall be sought, the strength of which I shall hope and pray to carry me through, yet again. So help me Lord !!

There is another excitement that builds up - the arrival of the children from Delhi, the full house, the ‘chahal pahel’, one that I most admire and adore. I love the joint family system. Of the many members that inhabit one house and one kitchen and one space. Of the many different locations in the house that get activated with members of the house, of a full dining table, the conversations and the talk, the extra curricular activities of each … ah … such a joy !! Yes .. the desire for that solitary moment is a necessity, but to know that all below or about is functioning and occupied, gives added solace.

Changes to the digital arena are on continously, and this morning the Vog has been initiated. So those that reside in India shall be able to access it as soon as I can figure out how they much function. The overseas Vog is a problem, but … I believe they are working feverishly at constructing an App., through which the Vog shall have the capacity to be heard all over the world !! Yipeee !!!

Each day some exciting news and ideas keep trickling in, and very shortly I shall be in a position to share them with all the Ef … in a somewhat positive mood !!
